Ryan McCoy is a competitive bodybuilder and muscle model, lets look at what his motivation is.
I’m currently 26 years old, 6 ft tall and weigh 108 kg.
How did you get started with bodybuilding?
My best friend brought me to his home built gym in his garage about 4-5 years ago to take out some extra aggression and I have been hooked since.
Where does your motivation come from?
I get my motivation from the people I train with and mostly mass monster bodybuilders like Markus Ruhl.
What workout routine has worked best for you?
I train old-school Dorian Yates style I feel this work best for me.
What is your diet like?
My diet has been all over the place I usually just eat what I want when I’m hungry or don’t eat at all when I’m not.
How does your training and diet evolve as you get closer to a competition?
My diet will stay around the same amount of calories until I get closer and closer to show time then if I need to drop some extra body fat they will be decreased and usually some more cardio added in.
What’s the one food you couldn’t live without and how do you handle food cravings?
I have a serious sweet tooth and my favourite food is dessert, Im usually allowed a calorie allowance and will use this during prep for something nice.
What supplements do you use?
I have only really started using supplements and I have gotten pretty keen on mixing my oats or cereal with chocolate whey protein.
