Andrew Pickering is a bodybuilder, fitness model, personal trainer and gym owner. He owns a gym in Bridlington East Yorkshire a big iron gym called Universal Physique Gym.
He comes from a farming background and was born and currently resides in a small village called Cranswick.
Here is a little insight into both his training methods and inspiration.

How did you get started with bodybuilding?
I got started with bodybuilding when a random man approached me in our small village gym that was in the back of a pub.
He asked if I had ever competed I said no he then went on to say you should, you have potential.
I said I would maybe give it a go one day and the next day he gave me some details of an up coming show, the NABBA Mr UK and said I will prep you for the show!
Guy Oldfield who became a great friend and still till this day is one of my very closest friends, a very knowledgeable man and had me in great shape with a 1st place.
I was absolutely over the moon and it was Guy that got me addicted to my bodybuilding.
Where does your motivation come from?
My motivation comes from my man Rich Piana, one ace cool dude for motivation.
What workout routine has worked best for you?
I don’t have a routine as such. I’m always training differently different exercise to confuse my body, shock my body into growth.
What one exercise could you not live without?
My favourite exercise I don’t have because I love them all like the crazy ass bodybuilder I am haha.
That would be like taking a piece out of a jigsaw puzzle it wouldn’t ever be complete.
What is the body part you are most proud of, and how did you get it to that stage?
My most favourite body part……….I’m afraid I can’t discuss that haha.
What is your diet like?
My diet off season around 8-10 meals a day, clean good food and prep is 6-7 meals a day.
How does your training and diet evolve as you get closer to a competition?
Closer to a show my food intake will come down and my training will become less heavier more in the high rep range.
What’s the one food you couldn’t live without and how do you handle food cravings?
Well, I’ve gotta say chicken on the food I couldn’t live without but as for the cravings they don’t bother me as the more shows you do the less you crave the sh** but I do love a good pizza.
What supplements do you use?
